I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead this school and to support the students and families of our amazing community.

I have worked in the field of education off and on for a total of 45 years. I am fortunate to have served as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, assistant principal, principal, district administrator, and associate professor at Florida State University.

On a personal note, I am married with 4 children and 5 grandchildren, and a proud graduate of Wildwood High School. Wildwood Middle High School is part of a united community dedicated to preparing students today to reach their full potential tomorrow. We strive to provide a nurturing environment for limitless growth.

  • Hello, Wildcat families!

I am humbled to be starting my 15th year in education this year, all here in Sumter County. Out of those 15 years, 13 have been at Wildwood Elementary and Wildwood Middle High School. Yes, I bleed blue, through and through!

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Saint Leo University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University.

Over the last 15 years, I have strived hard to build relationships within Wildwood schools and the community. My passion is for our students at Wildwood to earn a quality education, while also learning lifelong skills. Our goal as an administrative team is to work together to support our teachers and staff to improve school-wide curriculum instruction, increasing student engagement, promoting positive activities to build relationships, and provide a safe environment for all.

Thank you Wildcat Nation for the opportunity to serve you, our students, our school family, and our community.

  • "If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward." – Martin Luther King Jr

    Greetings,

As a native of Orlando, Florida I graduated from Valencia Community College with my Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree then I transferred to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where I received my Bachelor’s and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Finance.   After beginning a career as a Stock Broker with Charles Schwab, the September 11, 2001 tragedy forced me to learn that resiliency is the ability to recover from challenges and keep moving forward.   Through it all, I knew I had to keep moving forward.  As a non-education major, I quickly accepted a position as a Substitute Teacher with Orange County Public Schools with strategic vision of moving forward.  Then, I pursued and received a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership (Ed.S.) from Nova Southeastern University.   After working for OCPS for fourteen years and serving as an ESE Language Arts Educator, Advanced Studies Coordinator, and an Academic Dean, I chose to broaden my horizons and keep moving forward.   In 2019, I joined the Sumter County School District as the Administrative Intern of Wildwood Middle High School.    During this time, I had the opportunity to continue developing as a leader and I kept moving forward by starting the Level II Principal Certification Portfolio Program.  Shortly afterwards, I was chosen as a fulltime Assistant Principal at South Sumter High School.

During my career, my educational experiences have fine-tuned my ability to increase student achievement and transform students to lifelong learners as they improve educationally, socially, behaviorally, and professionally.   As an Assistant Principal, I make it top priority to make a positive impact on the academic and professional pursuits of our students and teachers through safety, engaging learning activities, purposeful professional development opportunities, effective leadership strategies, and distinguished restorative practices. Without a doubt, I will always strive to educate, empower, equip, and encourage our Raider students, Raider faculty, Raider staff, and Raider families in the hopes that we will all KEEP MOVING FORWARD.  It is great to be a WMH Raider!

  • "Raise Up the Wildcats"

Hello Wildcats!  My name is Mr. Weems and I am new to Wildwood Middle High School this year. I am so happy to join the leadership team at WHS and look forward to a fantastic school year.

I have been in education for 26 years.  I began my career in 1995 as a substitute teacher while I was attending the University of South Florida in Tampa.  I graduated with my degree in Specific Learning Disabilities in 1998 and immediately began my career in Wauchula, FL at Hardee Junior High School.  For the next two decades, I taught ESE math, science, social studies and writing.  I also taught photography, journalism, critical thinking along with creating the school yearbook and newspaper.  I also became certified in Elementary Education in 2016.

I graduated from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL in 2014 with my degree in Educational Leadership and I began my administration career in DeSoto County in 2017 at DeSoto Middle School, first as an Administrative Dean of Students, then as an Assistant Principal.

I am excited about this upcoming school year and can't wait to see the accomplishments of our students.
